Wordy Wednesday

*SIGH*

I wouldn't blame all of you if you have forgotten me. When mommy went back to work after the blurp, she told me we'd have more time to keep up with my friends.

Have we?

NO.

To be honest, kitties, I don't see regular blogging in my future anytime soon. But I thought I would go ahead today and update you all on how we are doing.

Everything is about the blurpy girl nowadays, so I suppose I'll start by letting you know that the blurp is doing great. She will be 5 months old on April 15. I can't believe it! Time flies when you have a blurp around. I have taught her how to smergle, so she smergles her blankies and her clothes and her toys . . . and she'd probably smergle me if I let her get her little paws on me, but I don't. I teach her things from a safe distance. (Everyone says the blurp is teething, but I know she is getting in touch with her inner meezer and is smergling just like her big brother Tybalt.) The blurp likes to smile and when she is really happy she will giggle. She likes to roll around now and play with toys, and she loves watching the TV with the Forever Dad. She is super interested in us kitties now and likes to watch us. I am sure she is a future Cat Lady.

As for me, I'm doing okay. I still don't think I get enough attention. I used to have the pawparazzi following me around all the time, and now they follow the blurp. I used to sit in mommy's lap and get carried around, and now she holds and carries the blurp. I used to sleep with mommy at night, but now I am not allowed to because every time mommy lets me in I jump in with the sleeping blurp and wake her up. Mommy tells me blurpy sleeping time is sacred, but I don't get what the big deal is. You'd think she'd be honored that I would even want to snuggle with the blurp.

Whatever.

The girls don't seem to notice the difference as much as I do, but then again I am my mommy's special boy, so lack of mommy time bothers me more. The girls get to hang out with their FD a lot during the day while the blurp is being watched by Grandmama and mommy is at work, so I suppose everything is peachy in their world. Well, Ivy has started pooing outside the litterbox again, but when doesn't Ivy have poo issues? Mommy says she is "special." Ivy has also started trying to run for the great outdoors again as well, which has scared mommy and made her mad. Ivy never learns.

Since the camera goes where the blurp goes, and pretty much EVERY picture takes nowadays is of the blurp, there aren't any good recent pictures of me. However, Holly did get some attention by claiming a bag on the floor and not letting mommy throw it away.

Oh, and guess what?

I have always secretly wanted a stroller. I have often dreamed of going strollering with mommy, and enjoying the fresh air and birdies and flowers and maybe even seeing Timmy the Squirrel, my arch-nemesis, close up.

Have I ever gotten a stroller or gone strollering?

No.

But guess who has?

Yes. I admit it. I am jealous.

Sammie-pie, think I could come over and stay with you awhile?

Remember Me?

Just in case you don't, here is one of my handsomer portraits to jog your memory.

Mommy is back at work, which means she'll have more time to be my secretary than she would if she was actually at home with me and the blurpy girl. Blurpy girls take up A LOT of time and energy. You kitties with blurps know what I mean, right? I still get temptations, I still get skritches (although admittedly not as many as in the pre-blurp days), but things just aren't the same. Mommy tells me I'm still her sweet baby, but that the blurpy girl needs her more right now. I guess that is true, but my feelings are still hurt. I cry at mommy a lot and try to snuggle with the blurp on her lap, even though there isn't room for me and the blurp is still too small to snuggle on top of.

Sigh.

The blurp is growing like a weed, though, so I have hopes that if mommy won't pay me as much attention as I think she should, then the blurp will pick up the slack. Even though I am a teensy bit jealous, I have to admit she is pretty cute . . . for a blurp.

I'll have to teach the blurp how to walk on all fours soon. All she does now is lay around and let people carry her. How is she going to stalk mousies that way?

Thankful Thursday

We are all thankful that mommy and the FD painted the bedroom and moved around the furniture to make it more aesthetically pleasing. We know it was all for us. Who else could it be for?

Mancat Monday and Awards

Sometimes a mancat just has to get a better view of his domain. The top of the fridge makes a pretty good lookout point.

I can hardly believe it! I have been honored with two more awards!

The lovely kitties of The Cat Realm gave me this wonderful award. It is called the "Premio Dardos" award, and this is what it means:

"With the Premium Dardos, recognize the values that each blogger shows each day in commitment to transmit cultural values, ethical, literary, personal etc. that, in short, demonstrate their creativity by alive thinking that remains intact from their letters and words."

Wow! It is a great honor to be given such a high honor!

I would like to pass this award along to:

2) Add a link to the person who awarded you.

Thursday Thirteen "Tybalt Needs" Meme

Mommy's favorite picture of me.

Lots of you kitties have already done this meme, so I thought I would give it a try. Just google your name with the word "needs" after it and see what you come up with! I thought I would turn it into a ThursdayThirteen of the most interesting results - I got 45,800 results!

  1. Tybalt needs to make sure that it's safe first. (Well, DUH!)
  2. Tybalt needs to find a more positive way to release his negative energy. (Does this have something to do with my wrestling Ivy until she squeaks?)
  3. [All] Tybalt needs to do is have that same 'conversation' with the mail server. (Huh?)
  4. Tybalt needs to chill out a little. (Am I supposed to be taking a hint?)
  5. Tybalt needs more lens flare. (I think my laser eyes are just fine, thanks.)
  6. Tybalt needs a spanking too. (Only from my mommy, and she never spanks me!)
  7. Tybalt needs to create his own interpretation. ( I thought I did that every Friday.)
  8. [Your] Tybalt needs to be big, tall, scary, and the best stage fighter in your company. (I prefer to be floofy, romantic, and a passable kitty wrestler, but thanks for the advice.)
  9. Tybalt needs to protect his family's honor. (Of course, that is my job as the mancat.)
  10. Tybalt needs to read what I wrote a little more clearly. (I'll do the best I can.)
  11. Tybalt needs a hug. (Well, I can always use one.)
  12. Tybalt needs a girl to meow in bed. (WHAT THE PAW?!?!)
  13. Tybalt needs thoughts, idle or otherwise. (That's what the comments are for!)

Stormy Weather!

Mommy made it home to me right before the bad, bad, bad storm came on Tuesday night. We thought it was only a severe thunderstorm, but a tornado actually visited our area. Mommy was so impressed by how much hail we got, that she had to take a picture of it. Here is our back deck - our whole yard and the rooftops were all white with it, like it had just snowed!

Here is a little better look at the hail. It was small, but there was a lot of it. Some people close to us had ginormous hail! We were all very glad we didn't get that kind.
By 6:30 pm Tuesday night we had no power. Mommy opened all the windows she could and lit some candles. During the worst of the storm, she herded all of us furry babies into the basement, but when it passed we all got to roam the house wherever we liked. You can see in these pictures that even though it wasn't even 7:00 yet, it was already super dark outside because of all the bad weather.
Here is Dana on the back of the loveseat. She has one of our kitty toys in her mouth! She's super happy she's inside and not outside, and she's even more excited that she is getting to romp free in the house.
Here is a close-up of her . . . see how she is smiling? Our poor kitty toy will never be the same, though.
Here I am on the kitchen counter asking for more temptations. I was a little bad, because I wouldn't follow mommy into the basement. After my solo adventure down there with Ivy, I never want to go down there again. I sat at the top of the steps all poofed up and watched everyone else go in and out of the basement, but I wouldn't do it. I was glad I really didn't have to go down there. I may have scratched mommy a little bit if she had made me. *embarrassed*
Here is Loki, taking his turn on the back of the loveseat. That is the doggies' favorite spot. Loki was just relaxing after all the excitement. He was upset the air conditioner and fans weren't working, though. Loki hates to be warm. He loves cool breezes blowing through his furs. You can tell he is panting a little bit.

Here is Loki having himself a good skritch. He barked at the loud storm while it was going on, but then he calmed down when it got quiet again. However, when it was bed time, he kept crying and begging to be let back out so that he could check out what all the neighbors were doing since they were all busy with the storm clean-up. This didn't make mommy very happy with him.

Are you wondering where the Tortie Twins were?

They were down in the basement exploring and ignoring mommy! Mommy finally convinced them it was better to be upstairs than downstairs. Holly came up first (of course.) Ivy took a lot more convincing.

Tigger's Big Birthday Bash!

Happy Thursday, Everykitty! Don't forget to drop by the M-Cats Club today for Mr. Tigger's Surprise Birthday/Gotcha Day Party! We have all sorts of yummy treats, and nip beverages for the mature kitty. I'll be bartending all day, and the special is my World Famous Niptini, but we also have Meowgaritas and Mother's Milk as well. (Just for you, Skeezix!)

I'm looking forward to seeing all of my friends and having at least one dance with my sweet tuxie princess Samantha. Holly and Ivy are wearing their party hats and are super excited. I'm glad they didn't tell Mr. Tigger the big secret! Holly and Ivy are both saving dances for their special friend Cody, and Holly is looking forward to sharing a niptini with Kashim, while Ivy is hoping Java is able to come so they can practice the bunny hop that Lando Bun taught her on Valentine's Day. So come on over and enjoy the PAWTAY!
