Tortie Tuesday - Helping

We Terrible Tortie Twins thought we would report to the Catblogosphere about the importance of helping your siblings! Here is an excellent example: what to do when they get mail (and you don't!)

First inspect the package carefully. Sniffing it is a good idea.

Next, you may want to feel it with your paws, to make sure it contains nothing suspicious. (Be aware that your sibling may mistake this for claiming their mail as your own.)

If your sibling is younger, they may not be able to read as well as you, so helping them with any cards or messages that may be included in the package is a must.

A quality control check is usually necessary for any items that were included in the package. Unfortunately, Tybalt claimed the catnip fishie right away and whapped at us when we tried to perform our check on it. (Sammy's lessons are really paying off!)

Supervising your sibling while they open and enjoy their package is always necessary. Never get lazy and just walk away! Make sure that you get plenty of time to sniff, paw, and play with . . . er . . . we mean quality check any items they may receive.

Happy Tortie Tuesday, everykitty!

Mancat Monday Mail

I was so surprised! Saturday afternoon my mommy told me I had mail! It was from two of my favorite ladycats, Queen Snickers and Empress. I got a prize for knowing the bonus question on their 100th post contest!

As you can see, I had a lot of help opening my package.

Look! I got a beautiful card and a catnip fishie! (That makes sense because my answer to the bonus question was that Queen Snickers has a pet fishie!)

Oh, Snickers and Empress, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my catnip fishie and my card! Thank you both so much!

Friday Movie Review - The Cat From Outer Space

Today in honor of Ramses and Isis and their movie star lineage, I would like to review the movie their ancestor starred in: Walt Disney's "The Cat From Outer Space."

Director: Norman Tokar

Written By : Ted Key

This movie is a riveting sci-fi adventure/comedy . . . and stars a cat! In "The Cat From Outer Space," a UFO is left stranded on Earth, and is taken by the U.S. government. The pilot, a handsome mancat, is left to seek help wherever he can find it. Luckily, he is wearing a special collar that allows him to communicate with humans. The alien mancat, later known as "Jake," soon gets aid from Dr. Frank Wilson (Ken Berry), and his love interest Dr. Liz Bartlett (Sandy Duncan). However, Jake needs Org 12, known on our planet as gold, to get his ship up and running again. And not only that, he needs to be able to sneak into it right under the U.S. military's very nose! Will Jake ever be able to fly his ship home again?

This movie is a classic Disney comedy; funny, family-oriented, and heart-warming. Jake is presented as a super-intelligent and adventurous kitty. My favorite part is when Jake explains to Frank that the reason his kind have taken the form of a cat is that it is the best one. (Which we, of course, already know to be true.) Thankfully, this movie is now available on DVD.

I got so worked up about this movie that I decided to break out my "Tybalt the Space Kitty" persona!

Tybalt the Space Kitty gives "The Cat From Outer Space" two antennae wiggles and a whisker twitch!

Thursday Thirteen - Spring

Thirteen Reasons I Need Spring

  1. My friends up north are tired of snow!

  2. I need to feel the sun on my furs more often.

  3. I need the windows open so I can sniff the great outdoors.

  4. More birdies will come to our feeders for me to watch.

  5. It will be daylight longer so I will get more playtime with mommy.

  6. My birthday is coming up! And it should be warm for it. (March 15)

  7. Our trees will be all pretty again, instead of just sticks.

  8. The doggies will spend even more time outside.

  9. Timmy the Squirrel and his friends and family will tease me more from my porch.

  10. The Easter Bunny will come! Maybe he'll let me see him this time.

  11. The yard will get green again instead of brown (and muddy).

  12. Did I mention my birthday?

  13. Saint Patrick's Day and Green Niptinis!

Mommy took today and tomorrow off to get some stuff done and to spend more time with me (of course!) so we won't be visiting bloggies, but she has promised to let me get my usual movie review up tomorrow. Purrs, everyone!

Tortie Tuesday - No Squillions?

Hello Everykitty! Welcome to another edition of the Terrible Tortie Twins' Tortie Tuesday!

We noticed that a lot of you have squillions. Squillion's Day kind of pointed that out to us. *wink* They look like lots of fun! Sadly, we don't have any squillions, but since our mommy is also a crazy cat lady (and dog lady!), we have quite a few kitty-themed objects around our house. We thought we would share them with you today.

This is probably our favorite. It is an angel holding a kitty. We think all furries have angels just like beans do . . . I know our guardian angel made sure that mommy adopted us and brought us home! (Mommy agrees because she told us no one else would put up with us the way she does. *snicker*) This angel lives on top of the entertainment center in the living room, usually, but lately she's been taking a vacation in the hall closet. It seems some kitty can't leave her wings alone . . . *ahem*

Here we have Hello Kitty (given to our mommy by Jack and Dante's mommy) and Puss N Boots (given to our mommy by Almost Dad). These two currently live on top of mommy's chest of drawers in the bedroom. We aren't sure, but we think those two might be dating. They are standing awfully close to each other, don't you think?

And the last kitty-themed object today is this kitty-shaped frame that Almost Dad got mommy. He lives on top of the entertainment center in the living room just like our angel does. Do you see whose picture is in it? We know he's a handsome boy, and the author of this blog, and the BABY of the family . . . but really, mommy, can you make it any more obvious who the favorite of the family is? We know you are always telling us he poses nicer than we do, and that if we would just be still and cooperate you'd have more pictures of us, but still . . .

Well, mommy, here you go. We CAN pose nicely . . . when we want to.

Mancat Monday - Spring Is Finally Coming

Sometimes a mancat has to tell his sister to get away from HIS photoshoot.

Happy Almost Spring, everyone! I was a happy mancat this weekend because mommy opened the windows for us! It was warm and breezy, and my sisters and I enjoyed sunning ourselves in the windows and sniffing the air to smell that spring was at last on its way. We also got in some great birdie and squirrel watching. Life is good!
