Tortie Tuesday - Weeeeeeee're Baaaaaaaack!

Hello everykitty! It's Ivy with the Tortie Tuesday report!

Mommy was off last Monday AND Tuesday, which was PAWSOME . . . but it meant she didn't take time to help us blog. Oh well, I guess a kitty has to take what she can get.

On the other paw, the FD got his very own camera, and so he is taking a LOT more pictures of us with it. After a photo shoot he lets mommy know that he's taken "more pictures for the blog."

Shhhh . . . just between you and me kitties that camera was given to the FD by his daddy who lives in California because he didn't think mommy and the FD took enough pictures of the CCB. Ha ha ha! *ahem* Anyway, the FD is also using it to capture his furry children as well, which is what any good daddy would do.

Here I am (Ivy). I call this my 'sultry' look. I give it to the FD a lot.

And here I am, giving the FD my 'quizzical' look. I usually reserve this for mommy when she asks me "What have you been up to?" and uses THAT TONE in her voice. You know the tone I'm talking about, right kitties? You can also refer to this as the 'innocent' or 'who, me?' look.

Here is my sister Holly enjoying the fresh air. It has been HOTHOTHOT a lot this year, but whenever it cools off enough in the mornings the FD will open a window for us to enjoy. He's a good daddy.

And here is Holly again. You can see her extra toesies really well in this one!

Happy Tortie Tuesday Everykitty!

Tortie Tuesday - Mark Your Calendars!

Hi Kitties, Furries, and Beans! It's the infamous Tortie Twins, Holly and Ivy, speaking here. I'm sure most of us already know this, but some very good friends of ours, the Whiskers and Purrs Gang, will be on television this Wednesday night! It is very, very exciting!

We know our kitty friends over at the Whiskers and Purrs Gang, and their super awesome wonderful mommy, are all a little worried about how the show will go, so we are asking everyfurry and bean to watch and send pawsitive thoughts their way . . . with fingers and paws crossed for luck!

Here is the show description, taken from the TLC website:

Truth Be Told
Truth Be Told: I'm Obsessed with My Pet

TV-14 (D)

To some, their animals are more than pets, they are companions, surrogate children and are the main focus of that person?s life. This is the case with Judy and her beauty pageant dog, Trixie, Debby and her service monkey, and Jenny's 11 rescue cats.

We've marked our calendar . . . have you?

Thankful Thursday

We are all thankful that mommy and the FD painted the bedroom and moved around the furniture to make it more aesthetically pleasing. We know it was all for us. Who else could it be for?

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful mommy keeps this chair right in front of the window, and this box in the chair, just so that I can have a good birdie and squirrel watching post in the dining room.

Tortie Tuesday - Ivy Worries

Mommy is worried about me.

At first, she thought I was being all in her business (even more than usual) because I could feel Fall in the air. After all, Tybalt and Holly and the doggies are friskier than usual, the way they get every year as the seasons change.

But instead of just playing thundering herd of elephants, or playing scream at mommy to be let out even though I know I'm never allowed outside, I started being more of a Velcro Kitty.

I started acting like Tybalt.

And then, I started becoming even more of a Velcro Kitty than Tybalt. And mommy didn't think that was possible.

Mommy hasn't slept in four nights now, because I won't leave her alone. And I don't leave her alone in very kittenish and painful ways. I talk constantly, in a little kittenish quack/squawk. I sit on her. I walk on her. I pat her face and her arms . . . with my claws fully out. I burrow under the covers and bite her. If she gets on to me or puts me off the bed, then I just jump right back up and scream at her, and then get her with my claws again. I sit on her head, like Tybalt, and hold on to her for dear life . . . with all of my claws extended and digging in to her scalp. If my mommy finally has enough and puts me out of the bedroom and shuts the door, I sit right outside of it and scream and claw at it. No matter what she does, I won't leave her alone, and she gets no sleep.

Mommy has checked me out. I am perfectly healthy. I don't have an earache or a toothache. My tummy is fine. My appetite is healthy.

Mommy has come to the conclusion that I am lonely and having separation anxiety. I was the only furry baby that bonded super close with the ex-Almost Dad, and she thinks I finally understand he isn't coming back.

Mommy has been giving me extra attention and doing her best to be patient with me, even when I dig in all of my claws and scream for attention in her sleeping face.

If anyone has any more suggestions about what she can do, please let her know. Mommy really needs her sleep, and she really needs her babies to be happy.

Tortie Tuesday - Catgirls

As many of you know, or have guessed, our mommy loves Japanese animation and comics (anime and manga.) One day a long time ago mommy wondered what we tortie twins would look like if we were characters in a manga . . . so she sketched us as catgirls!

I bet you kitties can tell which is which, right?

Tortie Tuesday Tattle

Holly here, with a tattle on my sister Ivy. This may embarrass her just a little bit.

In the wee hours of the morning, mommy had to get up to let Loki outside to potty, because he was whining. (He's been whining to go outside a lot ever since the tortoise excitement.) Anyway, while she was up, all groggy-eyed, she noticed that SOME tortie had opened the kitchen drawer again. When she walked over to close it, she noticed that all she could see in the drawer was Ivy bum! Ivy had kicked out some towels and made herself a little bed in the drawer, and was asleep in it headfirst. Mommy thought it was cute, so she went to fetch the camera. By the time she was ready to take a picture, Ivy had woken up and was yawning and jumping out of the drawer to see what mommy was up to. So Mommy didn't get a cute picture of Ivy's bum in the drawer, but she did get a pretty interesting action shot.

Tortie Tuesday - Tortie Rules #2

Holly: Dogfood can be tasty. Just make sure your doggie brother is outside before you go in for a taste. Doggies usually aren't big on sharing.

Ivy: Adventure can be found anywhere, and most especially on the kitchen table!

Tortie Tuesday - Tortie Rules

Tortie Rule #1: When your baby brother gets presents in the mail, make sure you get playtime with it yourself.

Ivy: Since there was nip sprinkled on the kitty scratcher, I was . . . well, I was just a teensy bit more aggressive and was actually the first of the three of us to enjoy it.

Holly: After the other two had their turns, I finally got a chance to experience the joy of organic catnip sprinkled on totally scratchable cardboard. Why have we never had one of these before?

Tortie Tuesday -Toesies and Tails

Holly: When mommy first adopted us, my sister and I looked even more alike than we do now! So mommy had to find a way to tell us apart.

Ivy: My tail is much different from Holly's! It is mostly ginger and stripedy. It is also thinner than Holly's, and I usually carry it straight in the air. That means I'm a happy kitty! In this picture you can see the mostly ginger bit very well. Just look at those stripes! It is curled around my body because I am snuggled and napping.

Holly: Of course my toesies are different from Ivy's! In this picture you can clearly see my extra toesies. Grandpapa calls me "six toes." He isn't very original, is he? But I know he says it with love. (Don't tell the others, but I think I'm his favorite grandkitty.) You can also see my speckeldy back foot. Mommy loves my speckles!

Ivy: As a bonus picture, here is our handsome ginger cousin Rudy! You can see his tummy and toesies! And he has a stripedy tail like me!

Holly: Tybalt is going to be mad about this, Ivy . . . you know he feels that Rudy has hogged his blog enough already!

Ivy: That's why I did it!!! Hee hee hee . . .
