Wordy Wednesday - Big News

Well, kitties, I have some big news that I couldn't tell you before today.

Mommy wasn't in Helen alone. Mommy was with the ex-Almost Dad. Except he's not an ex anymore.

How did that happen? You may well ask, considering the very sad and upset post I made about the Almost Dad back in August of last year. You may remember, he left mommy out of the blue. And the reasons mommy assumed he had for leaving were spot on. (Mommy knows Almost Dad and his family pretty well.) Anyway, while he was gone mommy started her classes again and went to a Braves baseball game and helped me blog and kept living her life and trying to not miss him or keep hurting over the whole thing. And then one Friday afternoon she left work and there he was waiting for her next to her car in the parking lot, and instead of driving away and ignoring him she let him talk to her. To make a long story short, Almost Dad realized that what he and mommy and we furry babies had was too good to lose over anything else in the entire world, and that he was going to do anything and everything he could to get it all back and make it work. So mommy gave him one more chance, because even though he hurt her she still loved him and missed him - and because Ivy was driving her crazy with the crying. (Ivy even started to lose her pretty furs!)

So Almost Dad came back into our lives. (And Ivy's fur grew back and her crying stopped.)

And on Valentine's Day, Mommy and Almost Dad went to Helen to celebrate.

And at Helen, Almost Dad asked mommy if he could be our Forever Dad. And she said yes.

I suppose this just proves, kitties, that love can conquer all and that sometimes happy endings come even when you think there is no hope for it. Mommy is very glad she took the chance and trusted Almost Dad to be the man she knew he could be. We are all very happy, especially Ivy.

I couldn't share the news before today because Almost Dad had to break the news to his family. They are not happy, but maybe that will change. But even if it doesn't, we are happy and excited enough for everyone.

Mancat Monday - Gone

I feel a little strange telling everykitty this, since there is so many MUCH more upsetting and sad things happening with so many of us lately. But I thought you all deserved to know this news since I have introduced you to him several times here on my blog.

Almost Dad is gone.

He left Friday afternoon. When mommy got home from work, he was already packed and just waiting for her to be home before he left. None of us here will probably ever know the real reason why he decided to leave us furries and Mommy. He just told her he "had no choice," but Mommy couldn't get him to be more specific than that. All mommy can assume is that his family told him again that he would be cut off financially if he stayed with her. His daddy has money; mommy doesn't. But to be honest, we will never know for certain if that was the reason or not.

Anyway, we are all doing ok. It was kind of the cherry on top of mommy's super depressing week, with all of the sad news around the catblogosphere and being understaffed and busy at work at the same time. And we furries were confused for the first day or so, when we didn't see him come back home after he left. Ivy was upset and had one potty-outside-the-litterbox incident, but things are settling back down to normal now.

Mommy and I also want to apologize in advance, because we are not sure how often I will be able to post, or how often I will be able to visit any of you in the coming weeks. Mommy starts her classes this week, and we aren't sure how much extra time she will have to help me with my blog. I have my paws crossed that at least she can help me on weekends, even if she doesn't have time during the week, but we will have to see. Please don't forget me, and don't think that I don't love you all! Each and every one of you is super special to me and my mommy, and we will join in as much as we possibly can, I promise.

Mancat Monday

Kitties, I have no pictures of my handsome self for you today. Mommy was *gasp* BUSY without ME this weekend!

On Saturday she went to see "The Dark Knight" with Almost Dad. Again, she didn't take me. I may have to disguise myself and sneak in so I can review it for you kitties later.

On Sunday she went with Almost Dad to his parent's house, because he had relatives visiting from France! Here is a picture of Almost Dad with his two teenaged French cousins. Almost Dad is the handsomest one on the left. (Mommy made me say "handsomest.")

Then they all went out and had dinner together, and then they took the French relatives to Centennial Olympic Park. Here are some pictures Mommy took so that I could share them with you.

Mommy had forgotten, but the National Black Arts Festival was going on, so there was some good live music playing in the park.

Here is a picture of the Georgia Aquarium - you can see it from the park. Mommy hasn't been there yet, because it is too expensive and crowded. Maybe one day.

And here is the CNN Center. This is where all of that boring news on CNN is filmed from. It also is attached to the Omni Hotel, and has stores and a food court and an entrance to Phillips Arena in it. Phillips Arena is where Atlanta's hockey team The Thrashers play, and also where a lot of big concerts are held. You may have heard about the Omni Hotel on the news when that big tornado hit mid-town Atlanta a few months ago. The Omni Hotel got A LOT of damage. You could still see several buildings around the area that haven't been completely fixed yet.

Here is a store at the CNN Center that mommy would have definitely visited if it had been open - The Turner Store. You can see why - CARTOONS! Mommy was actually a little relieved it was closed, because she would have been tempted to spend money she didn't have.

And finally, here is a picture of Mommy and Almost Dad at the park. I wish I could say Mommy was being artistic making it off-center, but it really is because Mommy was trying to take their picture and she is bad at aiming the camera correctly. At least you can see a lot of the park in the background this way. Mommy looks super pale, doesn't she?

There you go, kitties! No handsome Prince Tybalt today, but you did get to see a little of our great capitol city, Atlanta! Or HOTlanta as we call it - it was in the upper 90s yesterday. No wonder Mommy was hot and crabby when she got home last night!

Thursday Thirteen - Mommy and Almost Dad

Well kitties, I was wondering what I should post about today, and then I thought: Wow! I haven't really told you much about my mommy and Almost Dad! So I thought I would give you thirteen things about Mommy and Almost Dad today.

Mommy and Almost Dad all hot and sweaty at the Atlanta Zoo

  1. Mommy and Almost Dad had their very first real date on a Friday the 13th.
  2. Almost Dad didn't know much about kitties until he met me and my sisters. Now he's a kitty lover!
  3. Almost Dad is working on completing his BBA in Finance.
  4. Mommy will start taking classes for a Master of Arts in Teaching this fall. (It will be her 3rd degree if she finishes it. Is she crazy? Wouldn't she rather come home and spend time with me?)
  5. Mommy is older than Almost Dad.
  6. Mommy and Almost Dad first met each other on a message board about anime on the internet.
  7. Almost Dad is part Lebanese and Greek.
  8. Mommy says Almost Dad has Hobbit feet. Ivy loves to attack them.
  9. It took Loki 8 months to love Almost Dad. He hated him as an intruder until then.
  10. Almost Dad has lived with us 24/7 since Memorial Day weekend. (It took me a month to figure out where my sleeping spot was once he was there hogging my side of the bed right next to Mommy!)
  11. Almost Dad has a laptop he won't let Ivy play with. She keeps trying, though.
  12. Mommy would let us play with her laptop if she had one. I just know it. She lets us sit on her at the computer and whap the mouse and keyboard. (Mommy is more generous than Almost Dad.)
  13. Almost Dad knows that we furries are the babies, and you can't love Mommy without loving us!

Mancat Monday - Mommy?

"Mommy?"
That is what I am saying in this picture. I've got a lot to question mommy about on this Mancat Monday. Mommy, why didn't you help me visit my friends more last week? Mommy, why were you gone working all day on Saturday? Mommy, why did you get up this morning and go to work? Mommy, don't you owe me a day of snuggling?
Sure, Almost Dad stayed home with us furry babies from Wednesday night on through yesterday afternoon - but let's face it kitties, Almost Dad is ok and all, but he isn't MOMMY. And while the other furries in the house may not notice the difference as much, let me tell you, I most definitely do. My person is mommy, and I haven't had nearly enough time with her this past week. It is enough to make a kitty revolt! No more snuggling! No more purring! No more playing! No more anything from me for mommy until she gives me the time and attention I deserve! Just call me Ty Guevera . . . VIVA LA REVOLUTION!

Well, maybe I won't go that far, but I plan on letting mommy know just how lonely and unloved I feel. I think I deserve an extra day of snuggling and many more temptations to make up for this mommy absence, don't you?
