Thankful and Sad Thursday

Today I am giving thanks for Mu Shue Pooh King Cat, the heroic savior of his kitty sisters from a very scary apartment fire, and the precious baby boy of Mom Laura.

But I am also sad, because we are all having to say goodbye to this precious and special mancat.

We have lost so many of our friends lately, but it is comforting to know that they are all meeting each other at the Bridge. Mu Shue will have wonderful company when he arrives.

The Last Battle
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
and pain should keep me from my sleep,

For this--the last battle--can't be won.

We have had so many happy years,

Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,

Until my eyes no longer see.

it is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close--we two--these years,
